FRANCO Productions and Films is a producer of cinema, theater, events and cultural projects headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and run by Ailton Franco Jr. It has been in the market since 1992. Its most important project was the creation and production of the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival – Curta Cinema www.curtacinema.com.br, which for several years has been run by the Franco Cultural Association. The company has produced feature length and short films, TV documentaries and film festivals. Besides the audiovisual area, it has experience in the production of theater, dance, opera and the organization of domestic and international tours, exhibits and formatting of cultural projects with other companies or creators.
The FRANCO Cultural Association was founded in 2001 to produce cultural and educational projects, which it has done since its founding. It was initially called Quid Cultura – Cultural Exchange and Promotion Association, but in 2010 changed its name to Franco Cultural Association. Its founder, Ailton Franco Jr, returned to the presidency of the association. It is currently responsible for the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival – Curta Cinema, as well as developing educational and professional training projects.
