Curta Cinema [Rio International Short Film Festival]
Film Festival
Conception & Realization:
Franco Cultural
since 1992
One of the main conceptions and productions of FRANCO CULTURAL, the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival - Curta Cinema has held its annual editions since 1992.
Throughout all this time, the Festival has fulfilled its initial proposal of making possible the exhibition of short-film audiovisual works, which, given the characteristics of the cinematographic market, are difficult to access by the general public.
Since its first edition, the Festival's programming has shown a selection of the most significant short films, between national and international productions. It is one of the most important festivals of its kind in Latin America. It has a competitive character and is the first festival in Brazil to annually qualify a national short and a foreign short to claim an Oscar © nomination, regardless of its genre, recognition achieved in 2006.
